Program Participants
Black Entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs from across Southwestern Ontario are eligible to apply to become participants in SWOBEN. Applications must go through an intake process to assess their business or their concepts and formally be accepted as a participant to access most Network supports and services, including mentorship, business advisory services, and the Black Business Development Program.
Network coordinators will assess participants and work with them to best identify the supports and services that will help them to reach their business goals.
SWOBEN is here to help
Regardless of the stage of development of your business or idea, your industry, or your location within Southwestern Ontario, SWOBEN is here to help. A core to SWOBEN’s approach to providing pathways to entrepreneurial success is to remove barriers that early stage entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs may face. We realize that starting an entrepreneurial journey can be challenging – all we ask is that you come with a sincere commitment to putting in the work necessary to explore and execute your entrepreneurial vision.
The right level of engagement
Through our intake process and ongoing relationship, SWOBEN matches Black entrepreneurs with the right type and scope of services they need. Entrepreneurs who are positioned to significantly accelerate their skills and business development may be an excellent match with the 4 month intensive Black Business Development Program, while other entrepreneurs may benefit from selective services, such as being matched with an excellent mentor or being featured through SWOBEN’s platforms.
