About The Founder

Erik Johnson

Erik “E-Tomic” Johnson is a local hip-hop lyricist, vocalist, and slam poet hailing from the Windsor-Essex county area. He has been honing his craft of poetry writing and performance for several years.

His journey in the performing arts began in high school when he served as a backup vocalist for his older brother, Mr. Joshua Johnson, a renowned R&B singer in Windsor. Erik then transitioned to performing his original spoken word poetry at various community events and charitable functions, including open mic nights, rallies, protests, and the Windsor Poetry Slam, where he earned the title of Grand Slam Champion in 2019. Recently, Erik has been dedicated to highlighting the contributions of local artists of color in Windsor-Essex and expanding the reach of his content both on stage and in print.

“I am participating in SWOBEN to gain the knowledge and experience to be successful in my entrepreneurship and benefit from the expert guidance of the SWOBEN team, and their invaluable knowledge and the resources and opportunities that are often not made available to BIPOC entrepreneurs. I am thrilled to be given this great opportunity to receive the proper know-how into navigating the realm of business ownership.”
